customs duties calculated using either the Ad Valorem (as a percentage of value) method, which is a percentage of the item&#039;s value, or the specific rate (dollars\/cents per unit), which is calculated per unit price. Duty rates vary from 0.% to 37.5%, with an average of 5.63%. Some items can be imported duty-free, such as certain electronic products or paintings and antiques older than 100 years.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>United States sales tax<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n<p>In the United States, sales taxes are not automatically levied on imported goods.
